13 Aug Let Us Be a Resource for You
With a Little Help is dedicated to helping our community by offering the best in professional and supportive in-home care to your loved ones. We also want to be a resource when you are looking to learn more about their condition. While live, in-person educational events are not going on as usual due to the pandemic, many organizations we support are offering helpful resources online, including webinars. It’s not only a great way to gain information but it provides the opportunity to ask an expert in their field questions and get the answers that you need. We’ve compiled a list of some of the webinars that are being offered and we hope they will serve as a helpful resource to you and your family.
Parkinson’s Foundation – Pacific Northwest Chapter
The Parkinson’s Foundation, Pacific Northwest Chapter, is hosting multiple virtual events each week you can attend right from the comfort of your own home. They host “Mindfulness Mondays” featuring Meditation Practitioners who will guide you through the relaxation techniques as well as “Care Partner Town Hall” Meetings focusing on some of the most frequent topics relating to Parkinson’s. They also host “Expert Briefings” inviting experts in their field to provide education and advice on specialized topics. For information about upcoming events, click HERE.
Alzheimer’s Association – Washington State Chapter
The Alzheimer’s Foundation has a plethora of information on its website, including Continuing Education Webinars that you can view safely from your very own couch. All webinars are live and offer a question and answer period in the end. All of the sessions are free of charge but donations are welcomed. Upcoming topics include “10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s”, “Healthy Living for your Brain and Body” and “Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia”. Some topics are offered on multiple dates and times making it easier to work them into your busy schedule. For a list of scheduled events, click HERE.
American Society on Aging
If you are a professional caregiver, this is the resource for you. This online learning tool also provides the opportunity to earn free CE credits. It’s a great way for caregivers to keep up-to-date on practices, policies, and issues that caregivers face today. They offer several web seminars for non-members as well. Check the schedule HERE for more details.
The National Resource Center on Nutrition & Aging
While The National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging does offer a great deal of valuable educational information concerning nutrition, food, and health, their webinars cover a wide range of other topics as well.
